IIE is a very helpful tool especially to help Research and Development departments across several verticals like Investment Banks, Stock Brokers etc. to gather targeted information from the World Wide Web for analysis.
The IIE engine works on the principle of crawling. Depending on the nature of requirement, the engine will crawl based on the configured websites (Main URL, Sub URLs etc) and extract raw information from these websites depending on matching of requirement which is configured before the crawl is set up. The raw information gathered by the crawler will be analyzed into different types of business elements like Account Number, Sort code etc. After performing the analysis, the NLP engine will run through different business rules using the identified elements and see if any of the analyzed data matches with any specific category or sub category (In this case category can be an Industry and sub category can be a company).
Here NLP works at different levels and summarizes categorized data into conclusions or set of key words.
